La Livinière is a village which got its name from the vineyards brought to the area by the Romans who found the area to be an excellent producer of wine. The Mediterranean climate is also perfect for growing olives and one can find numerous olive orchards which olives and olive preparations are a well known delicacy of the local terroir.
With approximately 600 inhabitants, this typical Languedoc village has a bakery, a restaurant, a café, a doctor, a grocery store, a post office, wine shops and a drugstore, all located within a five minute walk from the house.
